Senior Vice President – Fund Accounting

Oliver James have recently partnered with a global alternative asset manager as they seek to hire a Senior Vice President of Fund Accounting to oversee their fast growing multi-credit asset platform.

The role based in Manhattan will see this Director-level professional be responsible for a wide variety of duties including fund accounting and financial reporting oversight, fund operations, strategic partnership, process improvement, senior management and much more.

Our client is ideally seeking a CPA qualified professional with 12-18 years of experience across both the public and private sectors (Big 4 & multi-fund asset managers – ideally with diverse experience within private credit/structured credit platforms.)

They are offering a competitive salary & bonus package worth up to $400,000 from a purely cash perspective, strong hybrid working, excellent healthcare & 401k benefits, a clear route for progression to the executive level and much more!

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all accounting functions including quarterly close packages, income and expense allocations, waterfall calculations, NAV calculations etc.
  • Review partnership and fund IRRs and other performance metrics on a quarterly basis.
  • Manage investor capital call and distribution processes.
  • Oversee credit facility management, including lender reporting, covenant monitoring and borrowing base calculations.
  • Serve as a strategic finance partner to the Portfolio Management team on overall business development and management including due diligence, fund structuring and fee calculations.
  • Coordinate across internal functions – including Compliance, Legal, Tax and Valuation – as well as external counter-parties including fund administrators and auditors to ensure timely and accurate fund operations.
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance the scalability and efficiency of fund accounting and financial reporting workflows.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience across both Big 4 public accounting & multi-fund asset managers.
  • CPA qualification is required.
  • Broad experience across diverse alternative investment strategies and asset classes is required.
  • Preferred experience within Private Credit, Direct Lending, Structured Credit and/or multi-strategy fund structures.
  • Strong leadership skills / executive presence is ideal.
