We are currently seeking an experienced data professional with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server technologies, ETL development, and enterprise reporting solutions. This role will support a major data modernization initiative involving migration from legacy systems to integrated cloud-based platforms while maintaining enterprise-wide reporting and data consistency.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in database development, data warehousing, reporting enablement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Warehousing
- Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft SQL Server technologies.
- Support development of enterprise data warehouses, staging environments, and business-focused data marts.
- Develop scalable relational and dimensional database models for reporting and analytics.
- Implement best practices around data quality, governance, security, and performance optimization.
Reporting & Analytics
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather reporting and integration requirements.
- Build and support reporting datasets, dashboards, and analytical models using Power BI and related tools.
- Standardize data definitions, KPIs, and reporting structures across departments.
- Assist with enterprise reporting administration and ongoing BI enhancements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, or database development roles.
- Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, and advanced T-SQL development.
- Experience designing normalized databases, star schemas, and data warehouse solutions.
- Solid understanding of SQL Server administration, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Power BI, Power Query, or SSAS experience.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and modern cloud data platforms.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, or data cataloging.
- Insurance or financial services industry experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel capabilities.
