Our client is a leading insurance group with a strong and established presence across Asia, offering life and health insurance as well as asset and wealth management solutions through agency, bancassurance, broker and digital channels. As part of their strategic expansion, they are currently seeking a Distribution Strategy Leader to head the team with a primary focus on Southeast Asia Bancassurance strategy and transformation initiatives, based in Singapore.
The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Managing an experienced team in developing and implementing Partnership Distribution strategies and initiatives, primarily focusing on Bancassurance across exclusive and non-exclusive bank partners in the SE Asia region.
- Lead the identification, design and delivery of high‑value distribution initiatives across SE Asia markets, combining strategic insight with hands‑on execution.
- Identify untapped growth opportunities and challenge existing distribution practices through an insurance‑focused strategic lens.
- Translate group‑level best practices into actionable, market‑ready programs that drive execution and impact.
- Understand why specific approaches succeed in each market and identify opportunities to localize and replicate proven models across regions.
- Proactively drive opportunities to markets and co‑develop tailored solutions that accelerate adoption and impact.
- Lead the pursuit of new distribution alliances, while also uncovering growth opportunities within existing partners.
- Design or revamp the engagement model, structure, and commercial rollout of partnership models to enable scalable growth across both new partnerships and expanded opportunities with current partners.
- Drive digital and innovation in distribution by utilizing emerging trends in AI and digital sales enablement.
- Partner closely with IT, Data & Analytics, Marketing and local market teams to leverage cross-functional expertise and tailor initiatives for each market’s needs, ensuring alignment and integration across functions and markets.
Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:
- University degree ideally with a Master degree or MBA
- Minimum 15+ years relevant experience in Strategy Development & Execution, Strategy Consulting, Business Planning and / or Strategic Transformation gained from Partnership Distribution, Bancassurance, Business Strategy or Group Strategy functions
- Must have industries experience in Insurance, Retail Banking and / or Strategy Consulting firms focusing on Insurance or Banking PLUS exposure to Singapore and SE Asia markets.
- Experience in leading strategic planning cycles, including detailed market analysis, partnership performance evaluation, competitive landscape assessment and the development of long‑term growth roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and articulate data‑driven business strategies that drive measurable impact.
- Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing complex, multi‑workstream projects.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize insights and translate them into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and executive‑level presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor and develop team members, fostering a high‑performance and collaborative culture.
