Role and Responsibilities

The key functions listed below are representative of what will be required of the Sr. Manager/Director of FP&A
- Operate with a high degree of independence and integrity to lead and enhance our annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes in partnership with our business intelligence teams.
- Develop and maintain revenue/expense models to support strategic initiatives, with Vena
- Develop and maintain dashboard reporting using Power BI, within Vena financial reporting platform
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs), using data to drive improvements in modelling and decision making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Support business activities, including geographic expansion, product line expansion, as well as potential capital raises.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CPA, CPCU or CFA preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with 2+ in a leadership role
- Direct experience in the insurance industry, or similar financial industry with recurring review required.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and STAT Reporting Standards
- Advanced Proficiency in financial modelling and Excel skills; experience with NetSuite Financials or Vena a plus
- Advanced Proficiency in Power BI reporting and/or Excel Power Query
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of financial reporting
- Experience with executive-level communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
- Willingness to make decisions, ability to clearly support those decisions, and a desire to build are required!
Physical Demands
While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening, and reading, being able to lift light objects (<25lbs), and using standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist or stoop to open/close cabinets, and reach for files or other standard office-type objects.

The office environment is fast paced and collaborative. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule, and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company or departmental needs, project requirements, or customer demands.
