Vice President – Finance

Seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Vice President of Finance with strong expertise in recurring‑revenue business models-including industries such as insurance, managed services, subscription services. This leader will drive forecasting accuracy, reporting modernization, platform optimization, and performance visibility across the enterprise.

Position is based in Sandy Utah.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes, with a particular focus on recurring revenue mechanics, such as retention, churn, expansion/reduction, and cohort behavior.
  • Implement standardized approaches for revenue modeling, including:
    • Retained revenue analysis
    • Customer/policyholder churn and reactivation tracking
    • Recurring revenue growth attribution (new, expansion, contraction, lost)

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with business units to identify opportunities for automation, improved forecasting, and enhanced internal reporting-particularly around retention drivers, customer lifecycle trends, and forward‑looking revenue indicators.

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Lead initiatives to enhance the enterprise’s financial platforms-including ERP, BI, and forecasting tools-to better support recurring‑revenue analytics, cohort tracking, and subscription/renewal workflows.
  • Design and maintain training materials that enable teams to fully leverage financial systems, including modules related to recurring revenue, churn, and retention modeling.
  • Drive automation and system enhancements to streamline month‑end close, recurring billing, revenue attribution, and data integrity processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership, ideally within the insurance, SaaS, or other recurring‑revenue industries.
  • Proven experience with:
    • Revenue retention/churn analytics
    • Recurring‑revenue forecasting and modeling
    • Cohort analysis and lifetime value frameworks
  • Strong technical proficiency in Workday, NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, FloQast, and modern BI tools.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition principles, especially for recurring or subscription‑based businesses.
  • Demonstrated success managing audits, complex financial operations, and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a demonstrated ability to drive measurable improvements across the finance organization.
