Our client, a leading asset manager (~$300B AUM), is looking to add a Vice President of Finance and Accounting to their team in New York City. This role is offering a hybrid schedule and major development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the consolidation of financial data and deliverables for quarterly public company reporting and regulatory filings
- Manage end-to-end reporting processes across credit and real estate investment platforms
- Perform technical accounting research and prepare memos for complex and non-routine transactions
- Oversee data integration and validation from third-party administrators to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Drive process improvements and centralization initiatives to enhance data quality and reporting efficiency
- Review financial outputs and support audit and compliance requirements
- Manage and mentor junior team members, including oversight of workload and professional development
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and external service providers to meet reporting deadlines
Qualifications
- Experience: 5-7 years in public accounting or financial services, with exposure to investment management and SEC reporting
- Education/Certification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA (completed or in progress) required
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel required; experience with Alteryx, Power BI, or Advent Geneva is a plus
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, strategic mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams such as FP&A and platform finance
