Our client is a fast-expanding Financial Institution with a solid focus in developing the Asia Financial Markets businesses. As part of strategic growth, the firm is seeking a high-calibre Operations Leader to manage an experienced team in Securities Services / Custody Operations.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Lead the team to ensure efficient and orderly clearing and settlement across equities, securities, exchange-traded and OTC derivatives markets
  • Regularly identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and implementing solutions supported by robust controls
  • Cultivate strong partnerships across the local market ecosystem, engaging banks, brokers, exchanges, central depositories, central banks and regulatory bodies to strengthen collaboration
  • Adapt quickly to evolving market conditions, contributing to transformation initiatives and reshaping operating models, policies and workflows
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Product, Technology, Sales & Marketing, Legal, Compliance and Risk, to advance post-trade business priorities
  • Establish and continuously refine documentation frameworks, applying strong expertise in account administration, vendor oversight and contract governance
  • Develop and sustain relationships with external counterparties, vendors, network and relevant stakeholders, while driving modernisation of legacy processes through structured improvement initiatives
  • Manage client feedback effectively, leveraging market insight to address requests, enhance service delivery and provide training that improves engagement and awareness of new services and initiatives
  • Lead market outreach, involve in industry initiatives, contribute to committee meetings, aligning internal stakeholders with market expectations while staying attuned to regulatory and industry developments and communicating key updates to relevant parties

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • An University Degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Operations, Settlement, Clearing, Post-Trade Operations, Network Management gained from Investment Banking, Securities Services, Custodian Services and / or Exchanges
  • Strong knowledge in equities and securities products and services in the Hong Kong market
  • Proven leadership and people management skills with a track record of developing teams through ongoing guidance and feedback
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities, able to engage effectively with internal and external parties at all levels
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial and resourceful with good project lead / project management skills
  • Good presentation and language skills in English, Cantonese and / or Mandarin
