Title: Actuarial Principal - Business Development (Health)

Salary: $200,000-$275,000

As a Principal, you will collaborate closely with seasoned leaders and senior consultants from a globally recognized strategy and analytics firm while contributing to a wide array of client solutions. This role offers high levels of interaction and visibility with clients, including leading insurance carriers and integrated healthcare systems. You'll take charge of business development efforts, lead execution teams, manage client relationships, oversee project delivery, and conduct peer reviews.
Potential projects may include:
Pricing & Bid Strategy: Guide product pricing initiatives, from strategic product positioning and benefit design through actuarial assumption development, certification, and submission, including post-submission support.
Market Feasibility & Entry Analysis: Help clients evaluate opportunities for new product launches or market expansions, including development of pro forma financials, risk assessments, and identification of key drivers needed for success.
Experience Analyses: Lead in-depth assessments of business performance to uncover underlying cost and utilization drivers and recommend strategic adjustments.
Product Design & Market Positioning: Support clients in competitive benchmarking, product innovation, and pricing strategies to enhance market positioning and profitability.
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional consulting teams on broader strategy engagements across the healthcare and insurance ecosystem.
Required Experience & Skills:
Designation as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) with 8+ years of professional actuarial experience
Prior background in advisory or consulting roles, with client-facing responsibilities
Proven ability to generate business opportunities-building relationships, securing engagements, and expanding existing client partnerships
Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
Strong organizational habits and adeptness in managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Self-directed with experience guiding junior team members across client development, project execution, and thought leadership initiatives
Effective leadership in team-oriented environments with an emphasis on collaboration
Advanced analytical thinking and a structured approach to complex problem-solving
Comfortable translating data-driven insights into actionable strategies for senior stakeholders
Energetic, adaptable, and eager to contribute in a fast-moving and evolving setting
