Our client is a major financial institution at the forefront of innovation in banking and financial services. As they continue to enhance their data capabilities, they are seeking a BI Data Analyst with strong SAS and SQL expertise to support data-driven initiatives and business decision-making.
Position Overview:
As a BI Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in analyzing complex datasets, ensuring data quality, and delivering insightful reports and dashboards that guide business strategy. You will collaborate closely with various business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into actionable analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business units to gather reporting and analytical requirements and propose effective solutions.
Conduct advanced data analysis using SAS and SQL to extract, manipulate, and validate data from multiple sources.
Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators and support decision-making (using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or WebFOCUS).
Ensure the integrity and quality of data through systematic data validation and quality checks.
Document data sources, logic, and reporting processes to ensure consistency and maintainability.
Translate complex analytical findings into clear business insights and recommendations.
Work in close partnership with data engineering, IT, and business teams to improve data flows and reporting frameworks.
Ensure compliance with data governance standards and regulatory requirements specific to banking.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a data analysis or BI role.
Strong expertise in SAS (Enterprise Guide) for data analysis and reporting.
Advanced SQL skills for data querying, transformation, and validation.
Experience with BI visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or WebFOCUS.
Solid understanding of data quality management and governance principles.
- Fluency in English & French or Dutch
Ability to work effectively with non-technical business users and translate their needs into technical requirements.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience with Dataiku for data preparation or analytics workflows.
Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis.
Experience working in regulated environments (banking, insurance, etc.).
