The role of BPA Pricing Actuary will report directly to the Head of BPA Pricing. You will be a key member of the Bulk Purchase Annuity Pricing Team and undertaking a variety of different tasks.
- Review and verify data preparation and analysis for Defined Benefit pension scheme pricing, including handling missing data.
- Check pension scheme cash-flow modeling using valuation systems.
- Support and mentor junior team members.
- Investigate factors influencing pricing assumptions.
- Perform BPA pricing and reporting under Solvency II, UK GAAP, and IFRS17 standards.
- Assist managers in implementing changes to pricing models.
- Complete ad hoc tasks as needed.
- Follow FCA and PRA conduct and consumer duty rules.
- Report any required matters to regulators promptly
- 3 or 4 years of experience of working in DB pensions- at an Employee Benefit Consultancy (EBC) or in the BPA team at an insurer / reinsurer.
- Newly qualified Actuary or nearly qualified actuary with relevant experience either continuing exams or stopped.
- Experience of DB pension modelling
- Experienced in insurance BPA cashflow modelling and pricing desirable
- Experience of pension scheme buy-outs in a risk transfer team at an EBC desirable
- Experience of Mantle systems desirable
