Our client in the financial sector based in Brussels is seeking a highly skilled and experienced candidate to lead the Analytics & insight team as a Data WareHouse (DWH) Squad Leader.

As a member, you will be part of an international team that collaborates to articulate the business strategy and grow profitable products and services. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and motivate a team of IT professionals across several locations, ensuring the continued delivery of projects, and maintaining services already running in production in line with their Service Level.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to transform the current Data Warehouse into a future-proof component of Client Group's data landscape. You will be responsible for growing the existing skill base in your squad through selective hiring and training, coaching, and developing squad members, and assessing their performance. You will oversee, develop, and ensure adherence to industry best practices, as well as assessing and improving ways of working, including knowledge management, development, release management, testing, incident management, and documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in running a team of developers in a production-critical environment and the ability to produce and explain a multi-year vision for the evolution of data warehousing in the context of the Group's data platforms. Strong experience in setting the strategic vision, direction, and standards for running a best-in-class data warehousing system is a real asset, as is experience in the financial and/or banking sector.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, decision-making capacity in complex and uncertain environments, and a "can-do" attitude focused on getting things done. You will have the ability to motivate your team and care for their personal and professional development, as well as possessing strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships both internally and externally with key stakeholders at all levels. Assertiveness, a holistic and strategic view, and the ability to translate strategic objectives into operational initiatives are also critical qualifications for this role.

The team helps to transform data into insights using techniques such as descriptive analysis, text mining, machine learning, process mining, network analytics, predictive modelling, ...

To this aim, the team is running:

• The Data & Analytics Platform (DAP) - Hadoop-based, used as group-wide DataLake, and able to perform advanced analytics treatment (a.o. Machine Learning & AI)
• The group DataWareHouse (SQL server), used as a source for reporting tools such as Cognos & Power BI.

Role:

Your role will be to lead the Data WareHouse (DWH) squad. By joining the Analytics, Insights and Reporting Tribe, you will be in charge of:

• Managing and motivating a team of IT professionals over several locations, and managing relationship with some external partners
• Ensuring continued delivery of projects
• Maintaining the services already running in production in line with their Service Level
• Growing the existing skill base in your squad through selective hiring & trainings
• Coaching and developing squad members, as well as assessing their performance
• Assessing and improving ways of working, including but not limited to:
• release management, testing (functional & non-functional)
• incident management
• Acting as escalation point for the squad and their stakeholders.
• Promoting and championing agile cooperation to enhance customer experience.
• Monitoring the budget targets for your squad and defining your sourcing approach. You will oversee anticipating up to 1 year ahead on the matter.
• Transforming the current Data Warehouse into a future-proof component of Client Group's data landscape

You will be a part of the Tribe management team, and you will participate to the strategy definition, as well as promote it towards your squad members.
