About the Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect (IT Service Design) to oversee the design, integration, and transition of IT services across a complex and distributed enterprise environment. The role involves working across various IT disciplines to ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with best practice frameworks. Looking for strong technical and architectural expertise, combined with a good understanding of service management and cyber security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design of end-to-end IT services, including SLAs, support models, and transition plans.
- Ensure service designs comply with ITIL, NIST, and NIS2 standards, and are integrated with ServiceNow.
- Lead the re-engineering of existing services and development of new ones for improved performance, user performance and compliance.
- Own the service transition process for all ICT projects, working across the full project life-cycle to embed service readiness. Document the whole process clearly.
- Collaborate with architecture, cyber security, service management, business analysis, and project teams.
- Contribute to governance and standard-setting for service architecture across the organisation.
Key stakeholders
- Head of Service Delivery.
- Works closely with internal IT departments: development, cyber security, PMO, applications, and operations).
- Liaises with business stakeholders and external service providers.
Key requirements
- Relevant degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years in IT service management, including 2+ years in a leadership or process ownership role.
- Strong background in IT service design architecture, transition, or ITSM roles in large, multi-site organisations.
- Deep knowledge of ITIL v4 and experience applying NIST/ frameworks.
- Proficiency with ServiceNow, especially CMDB, service catalogues, and workflows.
- Technical familiarity with infrastructure, cloud, cyber security, and enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, ERP).
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in IT operations and security risk management and service delivery in demanding environments.
- Excellent documentation, presentation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience working with third party vendors, including MSPs, and SOCs.
- Strong working knowledge of ITIL, general knowledge of ITSM products and frameworks.
- ITIL v4 Managing Professional or Strategic Leader certification and TOGAF or similar architecture certification are desirable.
- Experience in public or semi-state sectors is an advantage.
- Familiarity with ISO 20000, COBIT, or public sector procurement/compliance processes preferred.
