The Director will lead the development and implementation of training strategies, grounded in adult learning theories. This role involves systematically gathering and integrating feedback into training content and programs, overseeing a team of Epic readiness leads, curriculum designers, and trainers proficient in adult learning principles. Additionally, the Director ensures the successful delivery of high-quality, problem-centered training programs tailored to healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Epic Digital Training side in alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify training needs in the healthcare industry, particularly in Epic training and other digital platforms.
- Stay updated on healthcare IT trends, adult learning theories, and training methodologies through continuous learning.
Program Development and Management:
- Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programs covering various healthcare IT topics, with a focus on Epic EHR and digital healthcare platforms.
- Incorporate adult learning principles such as spacing, retrieval practice, and microlearning into training content.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging and relevant training content with clear learning objectives.
- Oversee the creation of training materials, including presentations, user guides, online modules, and simulations.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of trainers and readiness leads proficient in adult learning theories and instructional design.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer professional development opportunities to team members.
Training Delivery:
- Ensure training programs engage various learning modalities and focus on real-world application.
- Utilize diverse training methodologies, including in-person workshops, virtual sessions, e-learning modules, and simulations.
- Explore and implement modern technology, such as augmented and virtual reality, in training delivery.
Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
- Continuously refine training materials and delivery methods based on participant feedback and industry updates.
- Maintain high standards of training quality and ensure training outcomes meet established benchmarks.
Collaboration and Partnerships:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align training initiatives with organizational goals.
- Establish partnerships with vendors and industry experts to stay informed about best practices and emerging technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
- Expertise in adult learning theories, instructional design, and program evaluation.
- Healthcare IT knowledge, particularly Epic certification, is highly desired.
- Strong project management, leadership, and collaboration skills required.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with learning management systems and e-learning tools.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- CPLP or similar adult education certification preferred.
