Financial Reporting & Controls Manager (Reinsurance)


Our client, a prominent player in the insurance sector, is seeking a seasoned Financial Reporting & Controls Manager (Reinsurance) to join their dedicated finance department. This is a permanent position ideal for an individual passionate about driving financial accuracy and integrity within the reinsurance realm. Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for Insurance.
  • Ensure compliance with Solvency II reporting requirements, optimizing financial procedures and strategies to align with regulatory frameworks.
  • Manage and oversee the financial transactions and contractual obligations related to reinsurance agreements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate comprehensive audits and confirm financial status and practices.
  • Develop and implement robust financial controls and systems to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide strategic insights and forecasts based on financial trends and reinsurance market dynamics.

Key Skills:

  • Profound knowledge and expertise in Statutory Reporting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles specific to the insurance sector.
  • Thorough understanding of Solvency II reporting requirements and their application within the reinsurance and insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle large sets of data to derive meaningful insights.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the capability to manage and mentor a team towards achieving stringent financial deadlines and objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and senior management.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
