My client, a top Private Credit Asset Manager is looking for a Controller to join their expanding team to handle internal management of the fund accounting team. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of accountants, providing guidance to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
Oversee the preparation and review of private credit financial statements and related reports, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Manage the annual audit process and quarterly reviews with external auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Prepare materials for internal stakeholders, including senior management and investment teams, to support decision-making.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with financial reporting standards, including SOX 404 requirements.
Monitor and stay updated on evolving accounting guidance relevant to private credit and ensure proper application of US GAAP.
Collaborate with internal teams such as Treasury, Operations, Tax, and Portfolio Monitoring to support financial reporting and operational needs.
Maintain strong relationships with external service providers (e.g., fund administrators, auditors, transfer agents) to ensure smooth operations and accurate reporting.
Identify opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies in financial processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus).
CPA preferred.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in financial services, specifically in private credit, private equity, or a related field.
Strong experience with financial reporting, audits, and compliance within private credit or similar alternative investments.
Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., general ledger systems, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with private credit reporting tools is a plus.
Proven leadership experience in managing high-performing teams.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working in-office and contributing to a hybrid work culture.
