Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Premium Audit Supervisor to lead the development and management of the premium audit function for our growing Excess & Surplus (E&S) insurance company. This is a unique, high-impact opportunity to build the function from the ground up-including hiring and mentoring a team, designing workflows, and implementing systems to ensure premium accuracy and compliance. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Underwriting, Finance, Compliance, and IT to seamlessly integrate premium audit into broader business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Implementation
- Premium Audit Experience Within Insurance Industry Required
Design and launch the company's premium audit function in alignment with E&S industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
Develop and document comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for premium audits.
Identify, evaluate, and implement technology solutions (e.g., audit software, analytics tools) to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and timeliness of the audit process.
Team Building & Leadership
Recruit, train, and lead a team of premium audit processors and professionals to support business growth.
Foster a team culture centered on accuracy, accountability, and service excellence.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance management for audit team members.
Audit Execution & Oversight
Oversee end-to-end audit operations including scheduling, execution, quality control, and reporting across various lines of business within the E&S space.
Ensure all audits comply with applicable regulatory requirements and internal underwriting policies.
Partner with Underwriting, Operations, and Finance to resolve audit findings and address premium disputes.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on premium audit, providing insights and guidance to internal teams.
Collaborate with IT and Operations to ensure seamless data integration between audit, underwriting, and billing systems.
Manage relationships with third-party audit vendors and liaise with regulatory bodies as needed.
