Senior Citrix Systems Engineer - Bern (Hybrid)

A well-established Swiss IT services provider with over 30 years of market presence is expanding their engineering team. They specialise in modern, secure cloud solutions and managed services, with a strong focus on automation and long-term client success.

As they continue to scale, they're looking for a Senior Citrix Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering tailored hosted desktop environments and cloud platforms to enterprise clients through their private cloud infrastructure.

Role Overview:

You'll take a lead role in the design, implementation, and support of Citrix-based VDI environments hosted in the company's own data centre. From project planning through to third-level support, you'll be the go-to expert for Citrix architecture and performance.

You'll also contribute significantly to the strategic evolution of the private cloud platform, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and configure Citrix environments for customer outsourcing projects hosted in the private data centre.
  
• Provide 3rd-level support and troubleshooting for complex issues across VDI platforms.
  
• Develop and implement concepts for the ongoing improvement of the Citrix infrastructure.
  
• Drive quality assurance, security enhancements, and operational efficiency of the hosted desktop services.
  
• Contribute to the strategic development of the company's private cloud platform and services.
  

Ideal Background & Experience:

• Several years of hands-on experience in Citrix VDI environments, including MCS, PVS, Storefront, WEM, FSLogix, FAS, and both on-prem and Citrix Cloud setups.
  
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as XenServer and/or Nutanix.
  
• Solid PowerShell scripting skills.
  
• Familiarity with DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code and pipelines is a plus.
  
• Excellent German language skills (C1 level), with English at B1 level or higher.
