Role Purpose

This role sits within the Risk Management & Compliance team and is focused on ensuring compliance with UK and US regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for advising the business, supporting the implementation of regulatory change, and ensuring frameworks and policies are aligned with both regulatory obligations and commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for compliance queries across the business
  • Provide practical regulatory advice while supporting business objectives
  • Monitor and assess regulatory developments in both the UK and US
  • Lead or support the implementation of:
    • Enhanced scope requirements under the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR)
    • Operational Resilience rules
    • FCA guidance on Non-Financial Misconduct
  • Draft, maintain, and update relevant compliance policies and procedures
  • Deliver compliance training across the organisation
  • Carry out compliance monitoring and thematic reviews
  • Produce internal and external reports, including KPIs and board-level updates
  • Assist with managing data incidents and breach reporting
  • Review and update the organisation's Modern Slavery Act statement annually
  • Support and coach junior team members, and represent the organisation at relevant market events and forums

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Experience working in a regulated insurance environment
  • Strong understanding of the FCA Handbook as it applies to insurance intermediaries
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulation in a practical and proportionate manner
  • Experience with US surplus lines or E&S business
