Senior Financial Controller - Insurance
Location: Belgium (Fully remote)
Contract: Permanent
Compensation: €100,000 - €120,000 all-in + 10-15% bonus
Workload: Full-time preferred (4 days/week possible)

We are supporting a fast-growing international insurance group in their search for a Senior Financial Controller to join their Belgium team. The business has grown significantly in recent years, and they're now looking for someone who can bring both structure and energy to the financial operations of the Belgian entity.
About the Role
As Senior Financial Controller, you will play a key role in the financial backbone of the business. Reporting directly to the CFO, your focus will be on the smooth running of financial controls, reporting cycles, tax filings, and audits. You'll work closely with internal teams like Treasury and the local Branch Controller, support monthly closings, and ensure compliance with B-GAAP and group standards.
This is not a "climb the ladder quickly" type of role-it's ideal for someone who enjoys delivering consistent, high-quality work and wants to be a trusted partner within the finance team.
The position is remote, with occasional office presence in Belgium (once or twice per quarter). While Belgium-based candidates are preferred, candidates in the Netherlands or elsewhere in Europe are welcome if they can work effectively across time zones and legal frameworks.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone with a strong background in financial controlling or reporting, ideally within the insurance sector. Experience with B-GAAP is required, and knowledge of US-GAAP, Solvency II, or regulatory reporting is highly desirable.
Candidates coming from a Big 4 background with a focus on insurance clients are also encouraged to apply-especially those looking to move into a broader, in-house finance leadership role.
You should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, a detail-oriented mindset, and a collaborative working style. We're looking for someone proactive, steady, and capable of driving high standards without needing constant direction.
