A great opportunity with a thriving Private Equity firm based in West LA. Joining a high-performing team of fund accountants, the successful incumbent will provide timely reporting of the Private Equity funds whilst collaborating with the internal and external reporting teams.
Overview
The Senior Fund Accountant position offers a broad scope, combining traditional fund accounting and financial reporting with operational oversight, valuation reviews, and tax coordination. The role involves regular collaboration across departments, external administrators, auditors, and the direct team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Daily oversight of multiple Private Equity funds
- Manage quarterly and annual GAAP reporting, review of management fees and waterfall calculations
- Assist daily cash monitoring, capital calls, distributions, and credit facility administration
- Coordinate tax workflows with internal and external tax teams
- Support investor relations functions, including responses to investor inquiries
- Ensure compliance reporting across fund and regulatory obligations
- Collaborate with investment operations and performance teams on cross-functional initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- 3-6+ years of relevant experience: i.e. background in public accounting and/or in-house fund accounting experience with a focus on Private Equity fund structures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; familiarity with fund accounting platforms
- Highly dependable, team-oriented, and proactive. Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail with practical judgement
