Job Title: Senior Manager / Principal Consulting Actuary - Medicare Advantage
Location: Remote or hybrid if preferred and local to an office

Salary: $160,000 - 210,000 base plus bonus & benefits
Oliver James is partnered with a leading management consulting firm seeking a Senior Manager or Principal Consulting Actuary to join their actuarial health practice. Supporting clients in achieving business objectives, you will specialize in Medicare Advantage, becoming a trusted advisor for clients combining traditional actuarial principles with non-traditional solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead pricing of Medicare Advantage products, including product strategy & design, developing assumptions, certifying, and submitting bids
- Partner with senior leaders in health payers & providers, becoming a trusted partner and advisor
- Assist with product portfolio expansion, developing projections and understanding feasibility of strategic decisions
- Review Medicare Advantage business for clients, analyzing key drivers and STAR rating
- Develop analysis to understand financial impact and risks to clients
- Conduct competitor analysis to assist clients in making decisions on product portfolio
- Share knowledge with clients and develop additional resources such as articles on industry topics
Experience required:
- FSA or ASA
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in health actuarial, with a focus on Medicare Advantage bid development
- Thorough understanding of Medicare Advantage and ability to communicate results to others
- Ability to mentor actuarial staff and lead on projects
