Senior Reinsurance Broker (Life Insurances)

The Life, Accident and Health is a fast-growing business unit who provide strategic capital and risk management advisory support. Teamwork, local footprint with global expertise is their trademark. Their team structure, advise and place both "traditional" and "non-traditional" risk transfer solutions for a large variety of clients (local, regional and global insurers).

These are your responsibilities

In this position, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the organization in addressing the Dutch market, and ideally other markets as well. Leveraging your extensive network and profound understanding of the insurance industry and local specificities, you will be instrumental in expanding their team's capabilities in this region and providing invaluable insights to their clients. Your expertise and connections will be crucial in driving our organization's growth and success in these markets.

You will have the privilege of working alongside a highly skilled and experienced team of senior life reinsurance brokers and actuaries. This collaborative and seamless approach ensures that you can rely on their support and expertise as you spearhead their local initiative. Together, you will form a cohesive unit, leveraging each other's strengths to achieve their goals and deliver exceptional results in the most efficient manner possible.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Devise growth strategies to increase revenue opportunities
  • Evaluate market and client needs, goals, and obstacles to build strategic solutions and enhance client satisfaction and performance
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all client matters
  • Design, negotiate and place Life and Health reinsurance treaties (traditional and structured solutions)
  • Risk analysis and evaluation of risk management strategies for Life, Accident and Health
  • Valuation and pricing of reinsurance contracts, structured insurance solutions and capital market products.
  • Recognize "quick wins" and set appropriate meetings with partners to enhance sales

This is you

  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Experience with 5 or more years of account/client management is required.
  • Experience and strong knowledge in the following topics are major assets:
    • Longevity and disability risks, pension risks
    • Solvency II
    • IFRS and/or DutchGAAP
    • Asset risks and collateral design
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence and navigate complex situations with sophisticated and discerning buyers from the C-Suite
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to apply advanced mathematical / actuarial concepts and techniques to a dynamic environment
  • Strengths in practical problem-solving and possess the desire to innovate in a multi-disciplined, collaborative culture
  • Proficient with: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS teams and Outlook. Power BI, and/or other analytics tools a plus.
