A rapidly growing insurance company is seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President of Financial Reporting, Planning & Analysis to serve as a key partner to the CFO. This executive-level role will be instrumental in leading the company's financial reporting, performance analysis, and strategic planning initiatives, while also managing a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership capabilities to help shape the financial strategy and culture of a well-established finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and delivery of statutory and GAAP financial statements, including quarterly and annual filings, RBC reporting, and tax disclosures.
Oversee the conversion of statutory financials to GAAP and maintain compliance with NAIC, MAR, and other regulatory requirements.
Drive company-wide financial planning and forecasting processes, aligning capital allocation and budgeting with long-term business objectives.
Develop and present actionable insights through data-driven financial analysis, reporting, and KPI dashboards to support executive decision-making.
Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and operational teams to model program-level performance, reinsurance structures, and profitability.
Lead finance operations initiatives, including systems upgrades, reporting enhancements, and process automation.
Manage and mentor a team of analysts and planners, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in financial reporting and planning within the insurance or reinsurance sector.
Expert knowledge of STAT and GAAP accounting, including key schedules (F, P) and insurance-specific financial metrics.
Strong understanding of delegated authority programs, reinsurance treaties, and capital management frameworks.
Demonstrated experience leading financial planning and reporting teams, with a track record of operational excellence.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems and data analytics tools.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
