Director of Product – Infrastructure & Operations
Remote – Contract to Hire 4-6 months initially on W2
The Director will establish and lead a Product Management function across Infrastructure & Operations, covering:
- Cloud (AWS), Mainframe, Data Centres, Networking
- Employee Experience (user devices, productivity, ServiceNow, Service Desk, support engineering)
- DevOps, CI/CD, Incident Management, Release (CAB), and MFT
This is a leadership role with 7 direct reports in a currently flat structure, responsible for defining the product vision, strategy, and operating model, and aligning all Product Managers and Product Owners to a unified direction.
Project Overview & Objectives
Key priorities:
- Exit physical data centres by 2028 (retaining mainframe, removing open systems)
- Reimagine the MSP contract and operating model
- Develop and embed a Cloud operating model and FinOps capability
- Continue transformation of the Employee Experience function (recently ~50% refreshed, with ongoing alignment to internal customer needs)
This is a product maturity and transformation initiative, with some foundations in place and close partnership with Enterprise Product team.
Experience Requirements
Core Capabilities:
- Proven experience building and scaling Product Management functions
- Strong track record implementing product frameworks and methodologies
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
- Experience defining and driving:
- Backlogs, epics/features, and user stories
- Clear standards for product maturity and “what good looks like”
Technical Background:
- Likely background in Engineering or Infrastructure
- Strong understanding of:
- Cloud (AWS), Mainframe, End-user / device services
- Ability to work closely with end users, application teams, and developers, translating needs into productized services
Leadership & Delivery:
- Experience building and leading teams
- Comfortable driving both strategy and tactical execution
- Experience operating in hybrid delivery environments
