Director – Product Owner, Integrated Customer Application (Insurance)
We are hiring a Director / Associate Director who is responsible for launching a groundbreaking all-in-one digital customer application that seamlessly integrates various financial / investment products into a single, unified platform.
As the Director – Product Owner, you will own the end-to-end vision, strategy, and delivery of this strategic digital platform. You will serve as the key bridge between business, technology, distribution (agency & bancassurance), compliance, and customer experience teams to deliver a best-in-class, customer-centric solution that drives acquisition, engagement, and retention.
This is a high-visibility Director-level role reporting directly to senior leadership, with significant influence on the company’s digital transformation agenda in Hong Kong.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full product lifecycle of the Integrated Customer Application – from vision and roadmap definition to prioritization, delivery, launch, and continuous optimization.
- Define and translate complex business requirements into clear, prioritized product backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria, ensuring seamless integration of pension and life insurance functionalities.
- Work closely with Technology, UX/UI, Data, and Compliance teams to deliver a scalable, secure, and user-friendly digital platform.
- Drive stakeholder alignment across multiple departments (Agency, Bancassurance, Product, Marketing, Operations, Legal & Compliance) and manage expectations at senior executive level.
- Champion customer-centric design by conducting user research, journey mapping, and usability testing to continuously enhance the end-to-end customer experience.
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes (MPF, IA guidelines, etc.) to keep the platform competitive and compliant.
- Define and track key success metrics (adoption, engagement, conversion, retention, NPS) and report regularly to senior leadership.
- Lead change management and adoption initiatives to ensure high usage by both customers and internal distribution channels.
Requirements
- Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience in insurance or financial services, with at least 5 years in a senior Product Owner / Business Owner / Digital Product Management role.
- Strong insurance domain knowledge – deep understanding of Life Insurance and Pension/MPF products in the Hong Kong market is essential.
- Proven experience owning and delivering complex digital platforms or mobile applications in a regulated financial services environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels, including C-suite and cross-functional senior leaders.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance customer needs, commercial objectives, and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Figma.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Cantonese (Mandarin is a strong advantage).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in digital transformation or insurtech initiatives.
- Exposure to platform integration projects involving multiple product lines (pension + protection + wealth).
- PMP, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or equivalent certification.
