Finance Manager - Financial Close - Insurance/Reinsurance
On behalf of our esteemed client, a Fortune 500 firm in the Insurance industry, we are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager. This newly created role will focus on financial reporting, financial close, and accounting for reinsurance projects.
The Finance Manager will play a key role in centralizing financial operations within the company. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work closely with the CEO, CFO, and Head of Reinsurance Accounting Operations on a daily basis, providing invaluable exposure to top executives.

The compensation range for this role is 130-150k base salary with bonus potential.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and quarterly financial closing cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee the preparation of all financial reports related to reinsurance operations.
- Coordinate with internal audit teams and external regulators to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Prepare Reinsurance close calendars for all monthly, quarterly and year end closing processes.
- Review and approve journal entries, topsides and ensure proper workings created to support audits.
- Process month-end close for multiple business units in source systems and general ledger, collaborating closely with divisional and subsidiary teams, IT, and offshore teams.
- Prepare Reinsurance close calendars for all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Reviewing and approving journal entries, topsides, and ensuring proper workings for audits
- Facilitate the automation of reporting processes, aiming for efficiency improvements.
- Develop and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Collaborate with other department leaders to align financial strategies with overall business objectives.
Role & Responsibilities
- Proficient skillset in financial accounting and general ledger close related to the insurance/reinsurance industry.
- Experience working in an insurance or reinsurance firm.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple priorities in a dynamic business environment.
- Effective communication skills, with proficiency in presenting complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Highly skilled in the use of financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
