Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Premium Audit Supervisor to lead the development and management of the premium audit function for our growing Excess & Surplus (E&S) insurance company. This is a unique, high-impact opportunity to build the function from the ground up-including hiring and mentoring a team, designing workflows, and implementing systems to ensure premium accuracy and compliance. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Underwriting, Finance, Compliance, and IT to seamlessly integrate premium audit into broader business operations.


Key Responsibilities



Process Development & Implementation

  • Premium Audit Experience Within Insurance Indusrty Required
  • Design and launch the company's premium audit function in alignment with E&S industry standards and regulatory guidelines.

  • Develop and document comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for premium audits.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement technology solutions (e.g., audit software, analytics tools) to drive efficiency and accuracy.

  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and timeliness of the audit process.



Team Building & Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of premium audit processors and professionals to support business growth.

  • Foster a team culture centered on accuracy, accountability, and service excellence.

  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance management for audit team members.



Audit Execution & Oversight

  • Oversee end-to-end audit operations including scheduling, execution, quality control, and reporting across various lines of business within the E&S space.

  • Ensure all audits comply with applicable regulatory requirements and internal underwriting policies.

  • Partner with Underwriting, Operations, and Finance to resolve audit findings and address premium disputes.



Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on premium audit, providing insights and guidance to internal teams.

  • Collaborate with IT and Operations to ensure seamless data integration between audit, underwriting, and billing systems.

  • Manage relationships with third-party audit vendors and liaise with regulatory bodies as needed.
