Risk Manager Operational Due Diligence

The company

You will work for a large international asset manager with a great performance. The company has offices in New York, Amsterdam and Hong Kong. The company makes a large international impact.

The team

You will be part of the global risk management (2nd LOD) Due Diligence team and the Investment risk management team.

Besides your colleagues in the risk management teams, you will also often work closely with colleagues in the front office and finance departments.

The role

You will be responsible for Due Diligence assessments of external fund managers. This will include assessments of liquid and alternative investments. The role operates from within the 2nd line of defence.

Your work will have a very international focus and you will work closely with colleagues in the Amsterdam, New York and Hong Kong offices.

Your focus will be on:

- Performing an elaborate evaluation by criticising the policies and procedures set by the (external) fund managers.

- Interviewing (often with C-suite executives) to evaluate the performance of (external) managers on their internal controls, policies and processes.

- Create detailed reports that clearly state risk mitigating measures and controls by factual statements that might make or break the approval an investment proposal.

- Contribute to the continues improvement and development of the risk scoring methodology and procedures.

You bring

- Academic degree in finance, risk, accounting, investments or similar.

- Preferably a FRM or CFA certification.

- Knowledge of operational risk in a asset management environment or (operational) due diligence in a asset management environment.

- Great interpersonal/Social skills.

- Great analytical skills.

- Flexibility to travel abroad (10%)

- You are self starting and able to work well autonomously and in a team.

- You have 2-10 years of relevant working experience.

- Excellent command of English (writing & speaking)
