A top-tier asset management company is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their growing Houston-based team. Key Responsibilities:
Support the preparation of financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, specifically for offshore reinsurance operations and consolidated group reporting
Contribute to the development and implementation of robust financial reporting processes, systems, and tools
Partner with internal audit to ensure SOX compliance and strengthen financial controls
Prepare and submit timely statutory filings and regulatory reports
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties such as auditors, administrators, and business partners
Create financial analyses and reporting packages for senior leadership and the board to support strategic decision-making
Qualifications:
Active CPA license required
3-5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or a corporate accounting environment
Background in insurance or reinsurance financial reporting under US GAAP is highly desirable
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Proactive, self-starter mentality with a passion for process improvement
Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
Experience with accounting systems like Dynamics, Workiva, or Clearwater is a plus
