Oliver James are partnered with a leading Reinsurer, in appointing a Senior Risk Actuary to their London office.

Overview:
This role supports the organization's evolving risk profile by leading risk governance initiatives, developing the risk management framework, and performing stress and scenario analyses to assess capital needs. The position reports to the Chief Risk Officer and collaborates across global teams and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the enterprise risk management framework and implement regulatory changes

  • Lead the annual solvency self-assessment, including capital stress testing and scenario analysis

  • Prepare risk reports and materials for governance committees and boards

  • Support legal entity capital planning, resolution strategies, and climate disclosures

  • Manage one direct report and contribute to risk committee operations

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in life insurance or reinsurance

  • Qualified actuary with strong capital analysis expertise

  • Skilled in risk frameworks, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting (e.g., BMA, US GAAP)

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with Bermuda regulatory environment

  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management and capital frameworks
