A leading insurance organization is seeking a Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to own its enterprise planning, forecasting, and performance management function. This role will guide the annual operating plan and long-range strategy across multiple insurance business units, ensuring accurate, timely financial insights that drive decision-making at the executive level.
You’ll partner closely with senior leadership to refine models, strengthen analytics, streamline processes, and enhance reporting tools that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities across the insurance portfolio.
What You Will Do

Lead the annual planning, forecasting, and strategic finance processes across all insurance lines.

Deliver clear, executive-ready variance analysis and insights tied to key insurance metrics and drivers.

Oversee monthly and quarterly performance reviews, partnering with executives to deepen financial visibility.

Lead modernization of planning systems, including migration to Workday Adaptive, and strengthen data automation and workflow efficiency.

Build scalable, tech-enabled forecasting processes that reduce manual work and improve accuracy.

Enhance modeling and reporting capabilities to provide real-time, actionable intelligence to business leaders.

Maintain a strong understanding of insurance operations, unit economics, and financial performance drivers.

Manage and mentor an FP&A team, ensuring high-quality output and continuous development.

Set priorities, define expectations, and drive process improvements across the FP&A organization.

Deliver concise management reporting and executive presentations that surface risks, opportunities, and performance trends.

Strengthen relationships across underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and other insurance functions.
What You Bring
-
8+ years of finance experience within the insurance industry

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting

Strong command of P&C and/or life insurance financial drivers, metrics, and operating models.

Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude.

Proficiency with data visualization tools

SQL experience for large data set analysis.

Experience working with large ERP systems and corporate performance management tools; Workday Adaptive preferred.

Deep understanding of US GAAP and corporate finance principles.

Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive change.

Experience building and optimizing financial processes and standardized reporting.

Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
