Trade Compliance Manager

The Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for embedding trade compliance policies, processes, and controls across business operations. This role ensures all import, export, customs, and export control activities comply with international trade regulations, while driving continuous improvement across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities

Identify, assess, and mitigate trade compliance risks across global operations.

Embed and champion trade compliance policies and procedures across the organisation.

Lead trade compliance projects and support system enhancements (e.g. SAP GTS).

Ensure adherence to compliance processes, documentation standards, and audit readiness.

Deliver training and promote awareness of trade compliance across operational and leadership teams.

Monitor changes in global trade regulations, assess business impact, and communicate updates.

Act as trade compliance subject matter expert, liaising with customs and government authorities as required.

Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, finance, supply chain, IT, R&D, and operations teams.

Lead and develop a global team of trade compliance specialists, including succession planning.
Experience & Qualifications

Trade compliance experience, including 2+ years in a management role.

Strong knowledge of international trade, customs, import/export operations, and export controls.

Expertise in areas such as ECCN classification, customs valuation, rules of origin, FTAs, INCOTERMS, and AEO.

Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Willingness to travel internationally as required.
