Senior Tax Leader – Life & Annuity Insurance
we are exclusively partnering with a well-established U.S. life and annuity insurance organization to identify a Senior Tax Leader to own and lead the tax planning, reporting, and compliance function across multiple U.S. and international insurance entities.
This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for federal, state, local, and international tax compliance, statutory and IFRS tax reporting, and strategic tax planning initiatives. The position will work closely with executive leadership, controllership, and external advisors, while serving as the internal subject matter expert on insurance-specific tax matters.
Key highlights of the role include:

End-to-end ownership of tax compliance, reporting, and provisioning (US STAT, IFRS, and consolidated reporting)

Leadership of tax planning, modeling, and effective tax rate optimization

Oversight of external service providers and audit management

Support of complex initiatives including capital projections, RBC impacts, reinsurance, BEPS Pillar 2, transfer pricing, and withholding taxes

Strategic partnership with finance, accounting, and executive leadership on business decisions and transactions
Ideal background:

15+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, including life insurance & annuities

Strong knowledge of US Statutory accounting, RBC, and insurance tax disclosures
-
CPA required
-
Experience in senior leadership roles within insurance carriers or insurance-focused public accounting practices
