A leading international insurance client is seeking an accomplished Programme Director with a mainland Chinese insurance background to lead large-scale, regional transformation programmes. This critical role requires deep expertise in managing complex programmes across multiple geographies, strong stakeholder management skills to engage with C-suite executives, and a thorough understanding of Chinese tech vendors operating in the Hong Kong market.
Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential (Cantonese is a plus), along with proven experience in delivering policy administration system overhauls, infrastructure migrations, and other business-critical transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme Leadership: Drive the end-to-end delivery of large-scale transformation programmes, from business case development through Proof of Concept (PoC) and full implementation, ensuring alignment with global and regional business priorities.
- Strategic Deliverables: Take ownership of policy administration system migration projects and other pivotal programmes aligned with the operational transformation roadmap.
- Vendor Management: Leverage deep knowledge of Chinese tech vendors to evaluate, engage, and drive high-quality delivery of solutions in the Hong Kong market.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted leader to the C-suite and senior stakeholders, providing strategic counsel and ensuring alignment between technical delivery and business objectives at the regional and global level.
- Governance and Results: Establish and enforce governance structures to track project milestones, budgets, and risks while delivering quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Regional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships across international and regional teams, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience delivering large, complex regional programmes for mainland Chinese insurance companies or clients.
- A track record of success managing policy administration systems, infrastructure migration, and other high-impact digital or operational transformation programmes.
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence C-suite executives confidently.
- Expertise in working with Chinese software vendors in the Hong Kong and regional context.
- Fluency in Mandarin and English; Cantonese is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-pressure environments, managing multiple priorities with a results-driven, collaborative approach.
