Business Analyst – Finance Data & Business Performance

As part of a major transformation programme, our client is redesigning its operating model and technology landscape to drive consistent performance across global markets.

A key pillar of this initiative is a finance transformation programme delivered in partnership with a Big 4 consulting firm, focused on implementing a performance planning and finance data platform (including Anaplan) alongside a broader data lake architecture.

This programme will redefine how finance data is structured, integrated, and leveraged for decision-making across the organisation.

Position Objectives

The Business Analyst – Finance Data & Performance Planning will play a critical role in supporting the end-to-end implementation of a finance planning system, working closely with both internal stakeholders and the Big 4 implementation partner.

This role sits at the intersection of finance, data, and technology, driving improvements in how financial data is captured, modelled, and utilised within planning and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Scoping
* Work with Finance, FP&A, and business stakeholders to define requirements for finance data and planning processes
* Translate business needs into functional specifications for system implementation (e.g. Anaplan)
* Support the Big 4 partner in shaping solution scope and delivery approach

Finance Planning System Implementation (Anaplan)
* Support the design, build, and optimisation of Anaplan models for:
* Financial planning
* Forecasting
* Performance management
* Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure models align with business objectives and data structures
* Contribute to model design, calculations, workflows, and integrations

Finance Data & Data Lake Integration
* Analyse and document finance data sources and flows across legacy systems
* Support the design of data integration between source systems, data lake, and planning tools
* Define data mapping and transformation logic to ensure consistency and usability

Legacy System & Process Transformation
* Assess current finance and data processes, identifying:
* Inefficiencies
* Redundancies
* Opportunities for automation
* Support migration from legacy systems to modern planning and data platforms

Solution Design & Documentation
* Produce clear documentation including:
* Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
* Process flows
* Data models
* Functional specifications
* Ensure alignment between business requirements and system design

Data Quality, Governance & Controls
* Establish and maintain data quality standards and governance frameworks
* Ensure financial data is accurate, consistent, and audit-ready
* Work with stakeholders to define data ownership and control processes

Testing & Implementation Support
* Define and execute test cases for system implementation
* Support UAT and validation of finance planning models and data flows
* Ensure solutions meet business requirements and are production-ready

Stakeholder Management
* Act as a key liaison between business users, internal IT teams, and Big 4 consultants
* Provide insights and updates to support decision-making
* Deliver training and support to end-users on planning tools (e.g. Anaplan)

Candidate Profile
* 2-6 years of experience in Business Analysis within:
* Finance transformation
* Data transformation
* System implementation programmes
* Hands-on experience with finance planning / performance management systems, such as:
* Anaplan (preferred)
* Or similar tools (e.g. Hyperion, SAP BPC, Oracle EPM, etc.)

Highly Preferred Background
* Experience working on Big 4-led implementation programmes
(either as a consultant or client-side counterpart)
* Background in finance data, FP&A, or performance planning processes
* Experience in:
* Data modelling / data mapping
* Finance data architecture or reporting systems

Additional Advantages
