Fully Remote Role, offices in Pasadena, CA and NY
About the Company:
A construction-focused MGA with a sharp, collaborative team that builds smarter casualty insurance solutions for contractors across the country. They are one of the largest national and longest running multi-line Managing General Underwriting companies specializing in construction with over 30 years of experience. Led by a team of professionals with specialized knowledge of the construction industry, this company delivers custom designed insurance solutions and risk management services to qualifying specialty trade, general contractors and large construction projects.
They are a growing, high-energy company and are small by design, which means less bureaucracy, more ownership, and the freedom to think creatively. Their work spans workers’ compensation, liability, auto, and environmental lines, but the real strength is the people behind it: collaborative experts in risk, claims, underwriting, analytics, and more.
They hire people who like solving problems, working with smart teammates, and having a real voice in the work. If you want a place where your ideas matter and your impact is visible, you’ll fit right in.
The Role
Their actuarial department is a tight, talented team that builds smart casualty insurance solutions for the construction world and they’re looking for someone who wants real ownership from day one. This role is an individual contributor seat, but not a quiet one; they want someone who leads through their work, their ideas, and their initiative. If you eventually want to manage people, they’ll help you get there. If you’d rather stay hands-on and become a technical standout, that’s supported too.
You’ll work on pricing and reserving at the core of their business, and they’ll partner with you to shape the direction you want to grow in. Their goal is to help you become a well-rounded, diversified actuary who can see the whole picture, not just one slice of it.
