Compliance Director – P&C Insurance
Location: Remote

A global specialty insurance and reinsurance organization is seeking a Compliance Director to lead and oversee the compliance framework for its US regulated entities. This is a highly visible leadership role within a collaborative global compliance function and offers broad exposure across US, Bermuda, and international regulatory environments.

This opportunity is ideal for a commercially minded compliance professional who enjoys building frameworks, partnering with senior leadership, navigating complex regulatory environments, and operating in a hands-on capacity within a growing and evolving organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the US compliance function across multiple regulated insurance and reinsurance entities
  • Oversight of applicable NAIC, federal, and state regulatory requirements
  • Lead proactive regulatory monitoring efforts across US insurance markets
  • Assess the impact of emerging regulatory developments and partner with stakeholders to implement practical, business-aligned compliance solutions.
  • Oversee compliance risk assessments and support broader enterprise risk management initiatives
  • Manage regulatory relationships, examinations, inquiries, and remediation efforts
  • Oversee regulatory filings, governance reporting, and Board-level compliance communications
  • Partner closely with Legal, Risk, Operations, Claims, Finance, and executive leadership team
  • Collaborate with international compliance teams to ensure consistency in global compliance standards and controls
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and leadership across the broader compliance function

Ideal Background

  • 7+ years of insurance or reinsurance compliance experience within carrier, reinsurance, MGA, or specialty insurance environments required
  • Strong knowledge of US insurance regulatory frameworks, including NAIC and multi-state regulatory requirements
  • Experience managing regulatory examinations, filings, and compliance risk assessments
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in execution
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership or Boards
  • Exposure to international or cross-border regulatory environments is highly preferred
  • Experience within complex, fast-paced, or evolving organizations is advantageous
  • JD or legal background is beneficial but not required
