Lead AI Engineer (Hybrid)
Overview
We are seeking a Lead AI Engineer to join a high-impact engineering team focused on building and scaling intelligent software products that drive business transformation. This role will partner closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to deliver AI-enabled solutions, modern applications, and workflow automation capabilities that improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and user experiences across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, development, deployment, and support of cloud-native software applications, AI-enabled platforms, and intelligent workflow solutions.
- Partner with business leaders and product teams to identify opportunities where AI, automation, and modern engineering practices can create measurable business value.
- Drive the architecture and implementation of scalable systems, reusable frameworks, and shared engineering capabilities that accelerate delivery across multiple teams.
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor, helping establish best practices around software design, cloud architecture, AI integration, testing, observability, and operational excellence.
- Guide projects from concept through production, balancing innovation, scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies that improve developer productivity, workflow efficiency, and organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy processes and build next-generation digital capabilities.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building enterprise applications using languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives and influencing engineering direction without necessarily having direct management responsibilities.
- Strong experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, containerization, and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience building production applications, intelligent workflows, automation platforms, or AI-enabled solutions in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of APIs, event-driven systems, observability, monitoring, and scalable distributed architectures.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate business challenges into technology solutions.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices across teams.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to AI-enabled systems, Generative AI, intelligent automation, agentic workflows, or enterprise AI platforms.
- Experience developing reusable platform capabilities, developer tools, or shared engineering services.
- Front-end experience with modern frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Experience supporting business-critical applications within financial services, asset management, banking, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
