- Asia Anti-Bribery Corruption Lead
Our client is a reputable international financial institution offering a diverse range of services across Life Insurance, Pension, Wealth Management and Asset Management. With increasing business activities and a solid growth strategy in place, the Group is now seeking a high-calibre Anti-Bribery Corruption (ABC) Lead to join the Group Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) function, based in Hong Kong.
The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Report to the Group FCC Leader, be part of the global FCC function leading anti-bribery and corruption efforts in second line of defense, spanning across risk prevention, detection, investigation, and reporting.
- Drive annual group-wide risk assessments, manage major ABC incidents, oversee and report on the effectiveness of key controls, present key insights to senior risk committees.
- Implement and embed the Group’s ABC compliance framework across the region, ensuring robust due diligence, governance and monitoring practices are in place.
- Act as a key liaison between Risk and Compliance teams and business unit ABC leads, building strong stakeholder relationships and driving alignment.
- Review and enhance policies, controls and risk standards, while contributing to programme improvements and delivering clear reporting to senior management and board committees.
- Support audit processes and work closely with internal audit, ensuring all findings are resolved effectively.
- Design and review mitigation plans by analysing risk trends and evaluating control effectiveness across the Group.
- Oversee monitoring activities to ensure bribery risks are properly identified and detected, providing regular updates.
- Manage and coordinate adhoc ABC initiatives and project work across the organisation.
- Drive deep-dive assurance reviews within business units to assess control strength and exposure levels.
- Gather and analyse intelligence from both internal and external sources to strengthen risk assessments and prevention strategies.
- Build strong external relationships, benchmark the programme against peers and contribute to training, technology improvements, and team development.
Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 12 – 15 years relevant experience in Financial Crime Compliance, Anti-Bribery Corruption Compliance / Risk Advisory and / or Risk Management
- Regional or Group exposure from Banking, Insurance, sizeable financial institutions, regulated industries, Financial Crime Risk / Compliance Practices within Big 4 and / or Specialist Consulting Firms
- Understanding of the international laws and regulatory requirements and frameworks applicable such as POBO, FCPA, UKBA
- Experience in building, designing, revamping, overseeing and managing Risk / Compliance / Monitoring programs
- Ability to work independently within a team environment
- Excellent spoken and writing skills in English
