NEW LEGAL OPPORTUNITY: Associate General Counsel – Insurance Regulatory / Corporate
A global insurance organization is seeking an attorney to support insurance regulatory, corporate, and compliance matters across its U.S. operations. The role will involve working closely with regulators, advising the business on legal and compliance issues, and supporting a range of corporate legal initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with insurance regulatory and compliance matters across U.S. entities
- Liaise with state regulators and support regulatory inquiries and filings
- Support corporate governance, corporate legal matters, and internal compliance initiatives
- Draft, review, and negotiate general business contracts and advise internal stakeholders on legal risks
- Conduct legal research and prepare internal legal memoranda
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the business
- Support cross-border legal and regulatory matters as needed
- Assist with broader legal, regulatory, and corporate projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- MUST HAVE 5+ years of insurance regulatory and/or corporate law experience
- MUST BE admitted to the New York or Connecticut State Bar
- MUST HAVE experience with the U.S. insurance industry and insurance regulatory matters
- Experience interacting with state insurance regulators preferred
- Experience drafting and negotiating business contracts
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
Benefits:
- Salary: $150,000 – $200,000, plus wider benefits.
