Additionally role requires attorney to present counsel’s position clearly and professionally, handle procedural questions, and advocate as needed as well as communicate promptly with supervising counsel before and after the hearing and provide post‑hearing summary, including:
Court directives
Scheduling updates
Opposing counsel interactions
Any issues requiring follow‑up
Required Qualifications
- Active admission to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York (required; no exceptions).
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Prior bankruptcy experience preferred (Chapter 7, 11, or 13 acceptable).
- Strong oral advocacy skills and familiarity with bankruptcy procedure and local rules.
- Ability to appear in person at the scheduled hearing date/time. (MONDAY, March 16th)
- Professional, timely, and responsive communication.
