Bankruptcy & Restructuring Paralegal | Miami

A national law firm is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy & Restructuring Paralegal to join its Miami-based team. This role supports attorneys handling complex bankruptcy, insolvency, and creditor representation matters in both state and federal courts.

The position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated financial restructuring matters while collaborating closely with attorneys, clients, and external professionals throughout all phases of bankruptcy proceedings.


Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with the preparation, filing, and service of bankruptcy-related pleadings in federal bankruptcy courts and applicable state courts

  • Track case developments and maintain calendars for court deadlines, filings, and other key case milestones

  • Support the management of large bankruptcy matters, including Chapter 11 proceedings and creditor committee representations

  • Prepare bankruptcy schedules, statements of financial affairs, and amended filings using bankruptcy case management software

  • Draft and file proofs of claim and assist with monitoring claim activity and reconciliation efforts

  • Prepare a range of court filings, including applications related to professional retention and compensation

  • Review court dockets and circulate summaries of important filings and case updates to legal teams

  • Coordinate with court personnel, claims administrators, vendors, and clients regarding case logistics and filings

  • Conduct legal and factual research, including review of court rules, procedures, and case-specific requirements

  • Assist with document production, organization of case materials, and maintenance of electronic case files

  • Support attorneys in preparing for hearings or proceedings by organizing exhibits and compiling necessary documentation

  • Coordinate hearing logistics, including scheduling and preparation of related materials

  • Review loan and financial documentation and flag relevant issues for attorney review

  • Respond to routine inquiries from creditors and other parties involved in bankruptcy matters

  • Assist with administrative and operational aspects of case management, including time entry review and billing support

  • Handle additional assignments and special projects as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certification is preferred

  • At least three years of experience supporting bankruptcy or restructuring matters, preferably in a law firm environment

  • Familiarity with federal bankruptcy procedures and related court filings

  • Experience working with CM/ECF electronic filing systems and bankruptcy case management software

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
