Business Analyst – L&H Reinsurance (Remote – Zurich, Paris, London, Toronto) – Contract

Please not that this role is remote first but the team prefers someone who can occasionally make it to one of their global offices, in either Zurich, Paris, London OR Toronto.

The role is with a leading global reinsurance organisation who are currently expanding its Life & Health function. Following a successful first hire, they are now looking to add a Business Analyst to work on a high-impact Risk Records and Bordereaux Management initiative within Life & Health Reinsurance.

This is a remote-first role, open to candidates based in Zurich, Paris, London, or Toronto, who are hands-on, pragmatic, and able to bridge business and IT in a complex, global environment.

Day to day Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Life & Health Reinsurance, translating business needs into actionable functional and technical requirements.

• Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items, and manage scope alongside the Product Owner.

• Participate in testing and UAT, ensuring quality and alignment with business expectations.

• Analyse operational processes, business requirements, and data flows, including cedant/bordereaux data.

• Support system enhancements, process improvements, and change initiatives.

• Maintain clear documentation, including process flows, data mapping specs, decision logs, and reporting.

• Act as the key interface between Operations, IT, and project teams in a Scrum/Agile environment.

Ideal Background / Experience

• Experienced Business Analyst with hands-on exposure to Life & Health Reinsurance, ideally within Operations.

• Skilled at translating business requirements into specifications for ETL/data platforms (Alteryx, SQL, Snowflake, etc.).

• Strong knowledge of L&H processes, including underwriting, claims, policy administration, and reporting.

• Comfortable working in complex, regulated environments with multiple global stakeholders.

• Experienced in writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and leading UAT/test design.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.

• Agile/Scrum experience with tools like Jira and Confluence.
