Position Summary

This Claims Manager role leads a team of 4-5 claims examiners handling primarily homeowners claims, with exposure to commercial property. Reporting directly to the VP of Claims and working closely with the Chief Claims Officer, this position plays a key role in setting homeowners claims best practices, driving strategic initiatives, and developing a high-performing team. The organization is aligning its subsidiaries to operate more cohesively, creating expanded exposure, collaboration, and long-term growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of homeowners claims professionals, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant claim handling

  • Review, assign, and oversee homeowners claims while providing guidance and settlement authority, including complex and large-loss losses

  • Manage claim quality, reserves, and loss costs through file reviews, evaluations, and trend analysis

  • Support catastrophe planning and response, including leadership during CAT events impacting homeowners claims

  • Coach, develop, and performance-manage team members while driving homeowners claims best practices and operational improvements

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s preferred (or equivalent experience)

  • Active 6-20 Adjuster License

  • 4+ years of supervisory experience in personal and/or commercial property claims

  • Strong knowledge of property claims practices and procedures

  • Experience with Xactimate/XactAnalysis/XactNet

  • Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills

  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment

Location & Work Model

  • Location: Johnston, RI

  • Work Model: On-site 5 days per week for the first 3 months, then transitions to a hybrid schedule
