Position: Corporate Controller
Overview
The Corporate Controller will oversee the company’s financial reporting framework, guide technical accounting matters, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information. This role partners closely with executive leadership and plays a key part in compliance, reporting, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee recurring financial close activities for monthly and quarterly cycles, ensuring all statements are delivered promptly and align with U.S. GAAP requirements.

Function as the company’s primary authority on complex accounting matters, applying advanced knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 to address revenue recognition and other technical areas.

Take ownership of the full external reporting process, preparing disclosures, notes, and supporting analysis for regulatory and audit purposes.

Conduct detailed analysis of financial results, providing clear explanations of variances and trends to leadership.

Maintain strong reporting discipline around revenue recognition, ensuring all relevant transactions comply with ASC 606.

Provide technical accounting insights and research to the CFO and senior leaders, especially regarding new standards, regulatory shifts, and uncommon transactions.

Manage the opening balance sheets, purchase accounting activities, and closing financials for M&A transactions.

Partner with external auditors to ensure efficient audit execution and error-free filings.

Strengthen and monitor internal financial controls, supporting SOX compliance and safeguarding the accuracy of financial information.

Collaborate closely with the VP of Accounting to uphold data quality and consistency across the company’s financial systems.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

7-10 years of progressive accounting experience.

At least 5 years in a senior or leadership-level role, either in industry or auditing.

Deep understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and technical accounting principles.

Hands-on experience with external financial reporting, including preparation of notes and disclosures.

Strong analytical and organizational capabilities, with excellent problem-solving judgment.

Exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate technical accounting topics for non-finance partners.

Self-directed, capable of managing work independently while driving initiatives forward.

Demonstrated success leading and developing accounting teams.

Effective relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups.

CPA certification is preferred.
