We are looking for an experienced and strategic leader to take charge of Data Governance across multiple Asian markets. This key role involves developing and overseeing the data governance strategy, ensuring data quality, compliance, and effective utilization of data assets, while driving a data-driven culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a data governance strategy aligned with global objectives and local market needs. Lead and mentor a regional team of data governance professionals.

Policy Development: Establish data governance policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with both local and international data regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA).

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and business units to integrate data governance practices into daily operations.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on regional data protection laws, ensuring full compliance and managing data risk assessments.

Data Quality & Master Data Management: Lead initiatives to improve data quality and drive the adoption of master data management processes and tools.

Stakeholder Communication: Report on progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership and conduct training to promote data governance principles.

Project Management: Oversee regional data governance projects, ensuring alignment across markets and managing budgets/resources effectively.
Qualifications:

10+ years in data governance or data management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Strong expertise in data governance strategy, data protection laws, and compliance across Asian markets.

Experience in the financial services or insurance industry is a plus.

Leadership and communication skills to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies; certifications such as CDMP or CIPM are a plus.

Fluency in English; proficiency in one or more Asian languages is advantageous.
