This role will oversee compliance across all areas of the business, providing guidance to senior leadership on evolving regulations and compliance strategies. The position requires a proactive leader capable of assessing risk, developing policies, and driving a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
Detailed Job Description
- Manage the Compliance Program to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations governing property and casualty insurance.
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise senior leadership on new laws, regulatory changes, and potential compliance risks.
- Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigation strategies across product, underwriting, claims, and distribution channels.
- Research applicable laws and develop policies, procedures, and controls to minimize compliance risks across all business lines.
- Lead other strategic priorities as assigned by senior leadership.
Skills & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of compliance experience within the property and casualty insurance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance regulations, including state insurance codes, NAIC standards, and applicable federal regulations (e.g., GLBA, HIPAA, TCPA).
- Strong understanding of the insurance product lifecycle, from underwriting and policy issuance to claims handling.
- Proven ability to assess risks, develop compliance strategies, and manage cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills for engaging with senior management, regulators, and employees.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred:
- Certification as a Compliance Professional (CRCM or equivalent).
- Experience with compliance management software or tools.
- Familiarity with minimum limits auto insurance.
