Financial Accountant – 12 month FTC

A leading financial services company is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Financial Reporting & Control team on a fixed-term contract. This role offers strong exposure to end-to-end insurance & financial reporting and the opportunity to work closely with internal finance teams and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse accurate financial reports for management, group stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Liaise with internal teams including Finance Business Partners, Credit Control, and Shared Service Centres to resolve queries and ensure data accuracy.
  • Maintain a strong control and compliance environment, including balance sheet reconciliations and control testing.
  • Support finance projects and initiatives aimed at improving processes and efficiencies.
  • Contribute to IFRS 17-related reporting activities and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Support and mentor junior or part-qualified team members where required.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • 1+ years post-qualified experience (PQE).
  • Experience in financial services, ideally within the insurance sector.
  • Knowledge or experience of IFRS 17.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with good knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP or similar accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to work to tight reporting deadlines.
  • A proactive and motivated team player with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict reporting deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • MUST HAVE: Financial services/ Insurance experience
