Liquidity Risk Associate

About the Role

A growing insurance and investment firm is seeking a Liquidity Risk Associate to join its Risk team. This position focuses on funding and cash flow liquidity, ensuring the company maintains sufficient access to liquid resources in a complex balance sheet environment.

The role will work closely with Treasury, Risk Modeling, and Investment teams to conduct liquidity stress testing, analyze funding requirements, and track asset-liability cash flows across diverse product lines.

This is a high-visibility opportunity for someone who wants to combine quantitative skills, financial markets knowledge, and insurance balance sheet expertise in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess funding and cash flow liquidity risk across the insurance balance sheet.

  • Perform liquidity stress testing and scenario analysis under different market and business conditions.

  • Partner with Treasury to evaluate cash availability and liquid asset positions.

  • Work with risk modeling experts to integrate liability models into liquidity risk assessments.

  • Analyze asset and liability cash flows, particularly in fixed income portfolios, to identify liquidity gaps.

  • Prepare reporting and presentations for senior stakeholders and external audiences.

  • Contribute to ongoing projects to enhance the firm’s liquidity risk framework.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.

  • 4-6 years of experience in liquidity risk, treasury, ALM, or related functions within insurance, asset management, or financial services.

  • Solid understanding of insurance products, fixed income markets, and asset-liability management.

  • Experience with cash flow analysis and liquidity stress testing.

  • Strong technical skills in Excel; Python proficiency a plus (automation, analysis).

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Highly organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
