Manager Medical Economics
Location: New York, NY | Atlanta, GA | Dallas, TX | Tempe, AZ | Hartford, CT (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 + bonus

About the Role:
The Manager Medical Economics will be apart of the Medical Cost Analytics team within the Medical Economics department, and is part of a team that analyzes medical costs to understand trend drivers, project financial outcomes, monitor programs, and identify cost savings opportunities. You’ll partner with Medical Economics Leadership, Data Science, Finance, Payment Integrity, and other analytic support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership to support ongoing medical cost and policy evaluation initiatives.
- Build and maintain advanced financial and utilization models to assess the impact of potential program, clinical, or payment policy changes.
- Run scenario testing, sensitivity analysis, and stress testing to understand the range of possible financial and operational outcomes.
- Analyze comprehensive claims and operational datasets-including medical, pharmacy, laboratory, and authorization data-to uncover key cost trends and utilization patterns.
- Monitor emerging clinical trends and provide financial insights on how these may influence organizational spending and performance.
- Conduct retrospective analyses comparing expected versus actual results for implemented interventions and policies.
- Develop repeatable, scalable analytic workflows that can be leveraged across multiple business areas.
- Produce clear, data-driven presentations and visualizations tailored to both financial and clinical stakeholders.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing automation, documentation, analytic tooling, and the integration of AI into workflow processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational goals.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline (e.g., Economics, Actuarial Science, Health Economics, Biostatistics, Informatics, Health Services Research).
- At least 4 years of experience conducting quantitative or data-intensive analyses, including substantial hands-on work with SQL.
- Proven ability to translate analytical findings into actionable insights that influence business or clinical decisions.
Preferred:
- SME in clinical or payment policies.
- Experience with payment integrity and network performance.
- Understanding and experience with reviewing and handling complex high claimants.
- Experience with member and claim line data.
